Sheila, a sexually active 21 year old, would like to become pregnant. Sheila drinks two to three beers when she goes out with friends twice a week. Sheila smokes about a pack of cigarettes a day but has never used illegal drugs. Sheila _________

  A) does not need to reduce her alcohol use until she becomes pregnant, because a baby's major organ systems do not begin to develop until the second trimester.
  B) should not worry, because although illegal drugs present a significant risk to a developing fetus, legal substances, such as alcohol and tobacco, do not.
  C) should stop drinking alcohol and talk to her doctor about stopping her cigarette use before she becomes pregnant.
  D) should stop smoking, but does not need to worry about her drinking because moderate or social drinking is considered safe in pregnancy.
