Here are the correct answers to this Case Study.
Well wishes.



Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Case Study (Medical-Surgical):

Correct Answers:

1.A. hesitancy when starting the urine stream;  
   AND
   B. Decrease in the size and force of the urine stream;
   AND
    E. Frequent urination, including nocturia

2. D. Dullness heard on percussion, below the umbilicus.
3. D. “Decreasing fluid intake may increase your risk for developing a urinary tract infection.”
4. D. “If your prostate gland is blocking the flow of urine, you may have some degree of kidney damage that can be detected with these tests.”
5. C. “I realize that this report is causing you concern. PSA levels can be elevated with gland enlargement, as well as cancer, so more tests are needed.”
6. C. “Change positions slowly, such as when standing up.”

7. A. Liver function tests should be monitored frequently.  
    AND
   D. Medication should not be handled by women and children.

#7 has 3 answers. LFTs need to be monitored, women and children should not handle the drug, AND improvement can be noticed within a month.
