Given the info. what is the probability of obtaining a vertiacally striped cat from the P1 cross of SsTt x SsTT?

SSTt: vertically striped cat pattern shows

a) 9/16
b) 3/16
c) 3/4
d) 1/4

I got 2/16?  ???

Do you have your punnett square so I could check?

it's just written down in my notes, not online, maybe there's a mistake is in the question? I'll see if anyone on here confirms 2/16,

What did you cross?
I FOILed SsTt x SsTT to get
ST St sT st x ST ST st st
and just did a punnet square with that, is that incorrect?

Besides vertically or horizontally stripped, what's the other pair of trait in this question?  There are supposed to be two pairs traits since this is a dihybrid cross.  According to the genotype, SSTt, I am assuming since both traits are dominant, vertically stripped is dominant to horizontally stripped.  You couldn't know whether the vertically stripped genotype belongs to SS & Ss or TT & Tt unless you're given the second trait.  So, I am not really sure how you can answer this question.

This is what I got:

The gametes of parent 1 --> ST, St, sT, st

The gametes of parent 2 --> ST, sT

When you draw the punnett square, there should be 8 outcomes:

SSTT, SSTt, SsTT, SsTt, SsTT, SsTt, ssTT, and ssTt

If I were to take a shot at the answer, it would probably be choice "C" because there are six genotyes in which both traits are dominant: SSTT, SSTt, SsTT, SsTt, SsTT, and SsTt.  This is 6/8, which is 3/4.

Hope this helps!  :D

The only outcome that has a vertically striped pattern is SSTt, which is what the question is asking for.
We both crossed ST St sT st by ST ST st st for the punnet squares only i got 2 results that fit; 2 SSTt outcomes
Only.. that's not a listed answer T.T
