Title: Keratin Post by: chels194 on Sep 15, 2010 So I kinda need help w/ this..not really sure about it...
Title: Re: Keratin Post by: bio_man on Sep 15, 2010 1 is false
2 is false 3. false 4. false 5. true 6. true (sometimes 3.6) 7. true (antiparellel) I'm exhausted :-\ Title: Re: Keratin Post by: bio_man on Sep 15, 2010 I would like a copy of the solutions for this problem if you get a chance chels194, thx
Title: Re: Keratin Post by: chels194 on Sep 16, 2010 not getting it right, something's gotta be wrong...
Title: Re: Keratin Post by: sarah! on Sep 16, 2010 Interesting question, maybe I can shed some insight.
Look at A and D. Both A and D of each helix are situated close to one another. Recall that like attracts like and since they are in the inner part of the helix, they are probably none polar. Both leucine and valine are classified as hydrophobic amino acids. Therefore, 1 is likely TRUE (not false). This also suggests that question 5 is correct because the residues facing the outside are hydrophilic - they can interact with hydrophilic environment (i.e.). 2. False 3. Makes sense (I don't see why it would be False Bio_man) - So True 4. I dunno (I go with bio_man keratin is not a tetramer) 5. Bio_man is right 6. True 7. True Sarah :-* do you get it now? Title: Re: Keratin Post by: chels194 on Sep 16, 2010 still not getting them right :/ sucks cuz it doesnt tell u which ones r wrong..
Title: Re: Keratin Post by: sarah! on Sep 16, 2010 I totally empathize chels194,
Perhaps its part 4 that is not corresponding. It is this some kind of online quiz? What textbook is it? I think Bio_man has solution manuals for most textbooks. Title: Re: Keratin Post by: chels194 on Sep 16, 2010 anyways, if u want to know, i found out what it was: 1, 4, and 6. kinda close i guess
Title: Re: Keratin Post by: bio_man on Sep 16, 2010 So 1, 4, and 6 were wrong? What were their answers?
Title: Re: Keratin Post by: chels194 on Sep 16, 2010 1, 4, and 6 are true. the rest are false
