Title: The nurse closely monitors bilateral breath sounds and chest movement following
Post by: nurse2mrow on Sep 16, 2014
The nurse closely monitors bilateral breath sounds and chest movement following a thoracentesis because:
1.   fluid may quickly accumulate due to inflammation.
2.   the lung may have been punctured during the procedure.
3.   severe bronchospasm may cause atelectasis.
4.   asthma may result postprocedure.

This is for my medical nursing class
