Title: How Much ATP needed for cell processes
Post by: caters on Sep 30, 2014
150/180 = 5/6 mol

.8333.../37.5 trillion = 2.222... * 10^-14 mol glucose per cell

(2.222... * 10^-14) * (6.022 * 10^23) =  approximately 13,382,222,222 molecules glucose per cell

13,382,222,222 * 38 ATP/glucose = 504,524,444,436 ATP per cell

(2.222... * 10^-14) * 180 g/mol = 4 picograms glucose per cell.

1) How am I going to give my cell 4 picograms of glucose after I am done making it from biomolecules

2) Is this enough ATP for all the cells processes before and during mitosis?

I have no clue what you're presenting here. Mind posting the question word-for-word? I will figure it out on my own.

a mole is a unit of amount just like how liters are units of volume.

Glucose is the body's main energy source, if there is low glucose fats are the next ones to be used for energy, if there is low fat also than proteins are used for energy. At this stage things happen to the cells that shouldn't and you lose muscle.

ATP is the main currency of energy in the cell but GTP is used as well. You always want this to be high otherwise you will get things like rigid muscles and die if you aren't given some energy from glucose or something.

mitosis is the main form of cell division that occurs in almost every cell. however in some diploid cells in the male or female organs meiosis occurs which is similar but different to 2 rounds of mitosis.
