Title: Bones & connective tissues
Post by: wizrak on Mar 2, 2012
#1  What feature makes bone unique to other connective tissues?
1. It can grow in thickness as well as length.
2. It has very few blood vessels.
3. The absence of collagen fibres.
4. It can resist the force of torsion (twisting).
5. It is dynamic and able to remodel (change shape).

Its definitely not 3 and 2 as it has tensile strength as well as haversian canals, any ideas?

#2 Among the following, which are key functions of connective tissue?
i) Protection
ii ) Secretion
iii ) Storage
iv) Excretion
v) Transport of materials

1. i iv and v only.
2. all except ii .
3. i i and iv only.
4. i i, ii and iii only.
5. i i, iii and v only.

Is the connective tissue involved in excretion in anyways? (google says urinary, but it dosent have any details at all  :()

Thank you
