Explain the str Post by: star on Mar 12, 2012 Each year a new influenza vaccine is made by taking prevalent strains (two influenza A and one influenza B) at the end of each influenza season and infecting embryonated eggs with the different strains, one at a time. The viruses are inactivated in the eggs, and all three strain types are combined as a trivalent vaccine against influenza virus.
