Post by: Zoe on Apr 2, 2012
Okay I have done my lab and can't figure out a couple of questions. Here is two that I need help with please!!!
These two questions are under the Compensation in Pathological Cardiovascular Conditions

1. Which mechanism had the greatest compensatory effect?

2. Explain what happened when the pump pressure and the beaker pressure were the same?

2. Explain what happened when the pump pressure and the beaker pressure were the same?

When the pump pressure and the beaker pressure were the same, the flow stopped.

1. Which mechanism had the greatest compensatory effect?

Decreasing the pressure in the right-most beaker (the destination beaker) had the greatest effect because this decreases afterload.

Thank you so much!  :) I also have a couple other questions under Studying the effect of blood pressure on blood flow rate

1. Explain the effect that pressure changes had on flow rate?

2. How does the plot differ from the plots for tube radius, viscosity, and tube length?

3. Use your data to calculate the increase in flow rate in ml/min/mm Hg.
