great website chemb. So when comparing Pseudomonas Vs E. Coli, Pseudomonas species can respire but do not ferment glucose (hence the 'O'); E. coli ferments glucose so it's labeled as 'F'. Therefore, you can use Glucose O/F Medium as chemical test.

But then you kind of run into problems with Salmonella Vs E. Coli.
