Title: Resistors in Series and Parallel
Post by: astuckey on Sep 12, 2018
Three 12 Ω resistors are connected in parallel and then connected to a 6.0 V battery. Find the resulting current.
Show your work (formula, substitution, answer rounded correctly and with the appropriate unit. This is a two part question.

R1-R3= 12 Ω

1/RT = 1/12 Ω + 1/12 Ω + 1/12 Ω = 3/12 Ω

RT= 12/3 = 4 Ω

V= 6.0 V

I= ?

V=IR

I= V/R

I= (6.0) / (4)

I= 1.5 A

Current through all resistors= 1.5 A

Current through each resistor= 1.5/3 = 0.5 A
