Two names are drawn from a hat, signifying who should go pick up pizza Six of the names are on the swim team and four are not The number of swimmers selected is counted. The probability of 0 swimmers is First selection: (4/10) Second selection: (3/9) (4/10) * (3/9) = 2 / 15 chance that x = 0 swimmers are selected. --- The probability of 1 swimmer is First selection: (6/10) Second selection: (4/9) (6/10) * (4/9) = 4 / 15 that x = 1 swimmers are selected. --- The probability of 2 swimmer is First selection: (6/10) Second selection: (5/9) (6/10) * (5/9) = 1 / 3 chance that x = 2 swimmers are selected. |
