New technology, such as hydrofracking, makes it easier to recover petroleum (oil and gas) from deep in the ground and have significantly increased our supply of those products. As a result, we should:

a. Recover and store as much petroleum as possible now so we will have it in the future
b. Conserve our petroleum because it is a nonrenewable resource
c. Assume that technology will be able to keep us supplied with energy indefinitely as demonstrated by the petroleum industry
d. Apply hydrofracking to other industries like water resources or recovering gold and copper because they are similar to petroleum in that they are also nonrenewable resources
