Recently published in Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism (Journal of ClinicalEndocrinology and Metabolism, JCEM) studies have shown that daily intake of CAN vitamin D fortified yogurt (Persian yogurt drink) can improve the content of inflammatory markersin the serum of patients with type 2 diabetes, and excessthe calcium ion has an additional anti-inflammatory benefits.

Congregation to do is well known that inflammation plays an important role in CANX theprogression of type 2 diabetes, and can cause further complications, such as coronary heart disease and stroke. Vitamin D contributes to bone health, but no human clinical studies have shown anti-inflammatory effects.

Iran, Tehran, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, this study lead author Dr.Tirang Neyestani talking about Cap2, "Our previous study found that strengthening throughdaily intake of yoghurt drinks to improve vitamin D status can reduce the blood sugar levels of diabetic patients. The current study found that the intake of fortified with vitaminD yogurt can reduce serum inflammatory substance such like hypersensitivity reactionprotein (hsCRP) levels. "

In this study, double-blind, randomized, controlled clinical study, researchers surveyed90 patients with CAPG type 2 diabetes within the time period of 12 weeks. The subjects were randomly assigned to three different groups, respectively, daily supplementation with 2 bottles of 250ml of ordinary yogurt or vitamin D fortified yogurt or calcium plus vitamin D fortified yogurt. Samples were collected for blood samples, the study investigated the Capn2  subjects' vitamin D levels, insulin resistance and the like hsCRP, fibrinogen, andadiponectin such as levels of inflammatory factors.

"Our study is the first time found that adiponectin levels increase in patients takingcalcium and vitamin fortification of yogurt. Adiponectin is secreted by adipose tissuehas anti-inflammatory effects of substance Our findings may provide a useful treatmentfor diabetics "Neyestani says.
