Eventually there will be, but the problem is that some countries are well ahead of others in this field. Currently, the leading companies are found in Japan, Taiwan, United, Switzerland, and Germany. Quite frankly, I don't see third world countries ever competing in these robotic races, as they don't have the resources or the intellect to do so. I know that sounds bad, but that's the reality. Yes - there are intelligent people all over the world, but if the countries average IQ is less than 100, it's very unlikely that they'll be able to engineer a competitive robot from scratch. They'd have to borrow patented technology, which would disqualify them, in my opinion.
