The results of the blood transfusion should be apparent to the owner of the cat immediately after the sedatives have worn off. If it had been suffering from anemia, the animal will appear visibly more energetic and lively than before the transfusion. If blood loss was the problem, the cat's heart rate and breathing should stabilize as the body has more blood to work with. The duration of the effects of the blood transfusion will depend on the precise nature of the condition. In injured cats, they should return to their old selves as their body naturally produces more blood to replace that which was lost. Anemic cats may, dependent on the type of illness affecting them, require longer-term treatment. Cats with autoimmune diseases, meanwhile, might never fully recover

Thank you.

To be very honest, our Male Cat died due to Anemia when I was young at the age of 7-9 years. The Cat was about 6-7 years old. The Cat had become very weak and had lost weight. The Cat succumbed due to injuries here refered as Regenerative anemia in the above link.

So the question came here, whether at that time, blood transfusion would had helped?

I will share with you our Cat's photo later in our discussions.

Thanks & Regards,

Yes, it'll help temporarily, but it's not a cure for an underlying cause like leukemia or alike. Anemia is a deficiency in red blood cells, so if they're missing, the transfusion will surely help at the beginning, but it's not permanent.

Thanks.

So what's the permanent cure for Regenerative anemia in Cats?

So again no cure for Regenerative anemia similar to Cancer in advanced III or IV stage?

Regenerative anemia is caused by bone marrow attempting to compensate for anemia by increased erythrocyte production and early release of immature RBCs.

If it's caused by environmental factors, nutrient deficiency, then it's curable; otherwise, the cost to treat the issue is likely more than most pet owners can afford, so the animal is put down instead. Anemia due to bone marrow complications is likely cancer-related, and there's no cure for it.
