Title: What are the vascular structures seen in this cross section image of a cucumber (complex tissue) ?
Post by: Mik_Lee on Sep 26, 2019
I am just having difficulty differentiating the different vasculure structures of this image. I believe I see the xylem, phloem and maybe sieve elements or companion cells. Any assistance would be appreciated

Please find the cucumber cross section image attached

Is that the cross-section of its stem?

This image shows a cucumber stem with good collenchyma:

Hello! Yes, this is the cross section of its stem. We are supposed to identify complex tissue structures.

Makes sense, I thought a slide of cucumber haha

From this we see:

1) looks like a vascular bundle
2) looks like sclerenchyma
3) looks like collenchyma

Too specific .. the OP wants phloem, xylem, etc.

1-xylem
2-phloem
3-sclerenchyma

My guess ^^
