Do you feel IP phones installed in Commercial International & Domestic operated airlines for Pilots, Airlines Staff, Business class passengers could be beneficial?

Thanks & Regards,

Passenger aircrafts rely on radios (AM, between 108-136 MHz) to communicate. Traditional phones rely on a landline cable to transmit information - obviously in air, that's not available. The reason radios are still used is because they're more reliable than cellular signals - oftentimes cellular calls are dropped depending on where you're driving, inside an elevator, or where tower signals cannot reach (i.e. over the ocean) -- that's not the case with AM transmission.

Thank you.

So Is it feasible to install VOIP/IP phones in commercial airlines for Airline crew members, Business class passengers?

Can this have Business benefits to the Airline flight operators in providing excellent Hospitality services ?

Can this Benefit the Business class passengers travelling in the commercial Airlines?

Thanks & Regards,

It can't be implemented because these phones require a landline.

I think to better accommodate business-class passengers, airlines should be offering satellite powered-WiFi. From that, passengers can connect their phones to the internet and make calls via WiFi instead. It's more convenient this way because they're using something that they're already familiar with. Also, by connecting to the internet to make a call, you have the luxury of using your favorite facetime app. The number of airlines offering inflight WiFi is increasing rapidly, so it's best to ditch this older technology.

Wireless VOIP phones could be a good alternative in commercial airlines?
