What are the skills required in High jump?

Do you feel it will be more difficult for the Athlete for clearing the High jump holding a Tennis or Badminton racket?

Thanks & Regards,
Prashant S Akerkar

Speed and agility. Apart from that and practice, there's not much to it.

There are three aspects to high jump:

  • Approach
  • Take-off
  • Flight

Practice those three things, you should be good enough to compete...

Thank you.

Do you feel the Athlete will find it difficult to clear the high jump holding a Tennis or Badminton racket holding in one hand?

Thanks & Regards,

The physics of the sport won't change, because the rackets are very light to begin with. The science behind how the athlete twists their body in mid-air might need to be adjusted. All-in-all, I don't think it'd matter.

Thank you.

Do you feel while performing a High jump with the Tennis or Badminton raquet, maintaing balance will become more skillful for the Athlete?

It definitely adds another dimension to the sport, and with more complexity, the athlete would need to modify their technique and skills a little bit to accommodate. I think that those who could do the traditional high jump would also excel in this variation.

Do you feel the International Olympic Committee will accept this High Jump sport variation in future?

Maybe, but holding onto a racket while jumping sounds silly to me -- speaking honestly. If the physics don't change much, there's really no need for it...
