WHEN THERE IS MORE PRESSURE OF BLOOD IN THE AFFARENT ARTEROLE, THE CELLS ARE CONSTRICTED, SO THAT THERE IS AN EVEN FLOW OF BLOOD.

AT THE TIME TIME OF REDUCED BLOOD FLOW, THE CELLS ARE RELAXDD WHICH ALSO CAUSES AN EVEN FLOW OF BLOOD.

Glomerular filtration rate is dependent on the flow of the blood into the glomerulus, the regulation of GFR is explained below.

1- whenever there is decrease in blood pressure , blood flow is reduced in glomeulus leading to decrease in GFR, afferent arteriole then stretch to dilate and cahse increased blood flow to the glomerulus this increase the GFR and as the GFR returns back to normal due to negative feedback afferant arteriole comes back in the normal position, this is called as myogenic autoregulation.

2- Whenever GFR decreases so the amount of water and salt reaching the distal tubule also decreases, macula densa cells in the juxtaglomerular apparatus of the distal tubule senses it and inhibit the macula densa cells to cause afferant arteriolar dilation ,increasing the blood flow hence GFR, and as the GFR comes normal arterioles original stage is restored due to negative feedback. This is called as tubuloglomerular auto regulation.
