Title: How would you improve yield/purity using thermodynamics, stoichiometry, or kinetics?
Post by: sdgdsg on Jun 4, 2022
How would you determine the success or failure of an experiment using thermodynamics, kinetics, or stoichiometry? How would you improve yield/purity using thermodynamics, stoichiometry, or kinetics, using literature values?

I.e. the synthesis of isopentyl acetate

Stoichiometry measures these quantitative relationships, and is used to determine the amount of products and reactants that are produced or needed in a given reaction. Thus, based on your yield, you could use the principals of stoichiometry as a theoretical measure of the expected values by comparing what you found to the expected.
