Title: What does it mean if intrasexual selection plays a larger role than intersexual selection?
Post by: Laera on Jul 6, 2022
I've read an articel that stated that apparently intrasexual competition plays a larger role in human male selection than intersexual selection because physical dominace predictet a higher mating success than sexual attractivness. Now i didnt understand exacly what that means. It sounds like rape to me but than again, im not a biologist and english is only my second language. So now i'd like to know how that's possible and what exacly that means.

The dominant male, alpha male exists in Homo sapiens, for sure. Not sure how this reminds you of "rape". Could you clarify that a little bit more, that is, your justification for that conclusion?
