Title: Dhaka has 20 workers, and each can produce either 0.5 smartphones or... Post by: s.h_math on Nov 8, 2022 I cannot tell you how hard I'm finding this question for some reason it has 5 parts and this is only the first. Do you think you could give me a hand?
Thank you!! Dhaka has 16 workers, and each can produce either 0.5 smartphones or 10 T-shirts. Bangalore has 10 workers, and each can produce either 4 smartphones or 16 T-shirts. Draw the production possibilities curve (PPC) for each city, with smartphones on the horizontal axis. Also draw a single PPC, assuming the two cities were merged into one city. 1 .) using the line drawing tool, sketch the PPC for Dhaka. Label your line 'PPC ' 2.) Using the line drawing tool, sketch the PPC for Bangalore. Label your line 'PPC ' 3.) Using the multipoint drawing tool, sketch the PPC if Dhaka and Bangalore were merged into one city. Label your line 'PPCDB'. (Use the "Esc" key after you have placed your last point to exit the drawing tool.) Carefully follow the instructions above and only draw the required objects. Title: Dhaka has 20 workers, and each can produce either 0.5 smartphones or... Post by: s.h_math on Nov 9, 2022 The vertical intercept for Bangalore occurs when they use all 10 workers to
produce smartphones. If each worker can make 4 smartphones, then 10 workers can make 40 smartphones. The horizontal intercept is found in a similar fashion. If each worker can make 16 T-shirts, then 10 workers can make 160 T-shirts. In Dhaka, if each worker can make 0.5 smartphones, then 16 workers can make 8 smartphones. For the horizontal intercept, if each worker can make 10 T-shirts, then 16 workers can make 160 T-shirts. The merged city will have a vertical intercept equal to the sum of each city's intercept, or 40 + 8 = 48 smartphones. It will have a horizontal intercept equal to the sum of each city's intercept, or 160 + 160 = 320. This merged PPC will have the slope of Dhaka's PPC until Dhaka's horizontal intercept, then it will have the slope of Bangalore's PPC. This kink in the merged PPC occurs at (160, 40). Post by: bio_man on Nov 9, 2022 Ok, the good news for now is that we know the answers, and can eventually reverse engineer how to find them. I will look into the manual a little further and see if anything can help. Honestly, it's not my topic, so I'm just as lost unfortunately
