As the equation progresses from right to left, you are involved in the process of respiration, which involves the breakdown of glucose (C6H12O6) to release energy. During respiration, the oxygen you represent is combined with glucose to produce carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O), and energy is released as ATP. So, as you are going through this change from one side of the equation to the other side, you are being used to power the process of respiration and release energy that can be used by the plant or other organisms.
