How did the French Revolution contribute to the loss of St. Dominique as a French colony?
A) The revolt in the colony was spurred by revolutionary ideals.
B) The government of the National Assembly offered independence.
C) Napoleon sold the colony to Britain to finance his war against Russia.
D) The British seized the colony and gave it independence after defeating Napoleon.
