The ‘crawler’ prevents businesses from protecting their intellectual property. If the item is marked, the user is on notice of the existence of the copyright and the unauthorized use may represent infringement. The PDF format may protect the form from being tampered with or from being used. In that event the crawler may not be participating in infringement.
