Title: What is the biological significance of the quote " early bird gets the worm"?

I dunno what exact part of Chemistry(if it is even Chemistry) this is  :P so if it is in the wrong area please move it.Anyway I need to know this for extra credit.I believe that the answer lies in here:http://tinyurl.com/lbd6x3x
 but I cannot piece it together so if anybody can then you're a lifesaver

This is biology, evolutionary biology.

In relates back to natural selection. In this case, birds that are capable of waking up early are more likely to survive because they get first pick when it comes to their meal. Those that eat will produce the energy to carry on in their day, which includes reproduce and survive from predators.
