sperm and ova are normal cells in the sense that they contain organelles found in a typical animal cell. however, specialized structures related to specialized functions are found in each. the specialized structure of a gamete correctly matched with its function is
A. energy reserves of glucose: allows the egg to live about 7 days before it is fertilized
B. possess half the genetic material: 46 chromosomes carrying genetic information
C. tail structure (flagellum): contain 50 to 100 mitochondria to make ATP for locomotion
D. specialized outer coating of ova: protection; penetration by sperm of the same species

is it D?

Since the question is talking about organelles, I would say (C). However, it is a poorly written question, so (D) would make sense as well. :thi: :thi:

I'm going to confirm, it's (D).
