Title: Re: What is "ART" in micropipetting? Post by: spliceofslife on May 20, 2011 Ah it was arousal resistant tips. Such a lame question for a lab practical haha
Title: Re: What is "ART" in micropipetting? Post by: bio_man on May 20, 2011 lol That's pretty funny, did you mean aerosol resistant tips, by any chance?
Title: Re: What is "ART" in micropipetting? Post by: Nikkilg on May 20, 2011 The micropipette is made using a regular pipette and a bunson burner. You heat the middle of the pipette directly over the flame and twirl it until it is sufficiently heated and then extend it so that you end up with a much smaller, elongated, hollow tube. This tube is then cut to size and is used to move small amounts of substrate.
