Title: Are you an alumni of Ross University Medical School in the Caribbean? Was it hard to get a residency in US?
Post by: seniastardust on Mar 30, 2012
Have heard the good and bad to going to this school because students have a rough time finding good Internships in the US.  Yes this school is cheaper than med school in the US but is it really worth it?  What other experiences or pointers would you have for me?

If you can get into a US medical school (DO or MD), this is generally considered a better alternative. Going to Ross essentially guaruntees that you will have no choice but to do a poor residency in family practice. There are exceptions, sure, but would you rather have a 1/100 chance or a 1/10 chance?

Actually, Ross is considered one of the better Caribbean medical schools and graduates have obtained residencies in every specialty in every residency program in the US.

You can talk with current Ross students at ValueMD.com
