Title: Help me with balancing chemical equations please?
Post by: firework6 on Apr 16, 2012
I have two questions on my homework that i'm not sure what the answer is, the wording is a little confusing and it's due tomorrow. Can someone help me get the answers?

1. For each of the reactants and type of reaction listed, write out the correctly balanced chemical equation. Silver nitrate and sodium sulfide in a double displacement reaction.

2. For each of the reactants and type of reaction listed, write out the correctly balanced chemical equation. Aluminum metal and silver nitrate react in a single replacement reaction.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

2 AgNO3 + Na2S ~> 2 NaNO3 + Ag2S
You probably learned how to name compounds lastfew chapters. Remember charges of each ion and cross down if doesnt add up to zero. Next DOuble Replacement means Cations switch places in the product side. Then balance.

Al + 3 AgNO3~> 3 Ag + Al(NO3)3
