1. The two major halogens used for disinfection are iodine and chlorine. 2. Ultraviolet light is a type of ionizing radiation. 3. Filtration through membrane filters with a pore size of 0.45 microns will sterilize liquids. 4. Dry-heat sterilization is more effective than wet-heat sterilization. 5. Thermal death point is the lowest temperature that will kill 90% of microbes in a particular liquid suspension in 10 min. Title: Re: micro Post by: bio_man on Sep 28, 2010 True or False...
1. The two major halogens used for disinfection are iodine and chlorine. 2. Ultraviolet light is a type of ionizing radiation. 3. Filtration through membrane filters with a pore size of 0.45 microns will sterilize liquids. I thought it was 0.2-microns, but 0.45 is also used. 4. Dry-heat sterilization is more effective than wet-heat sterilization. 5. Thermal death point is the lowest temperature that will kill 90% of microbes in a particular liquid suspension in 10 min. Shouldn't it be ALL? Title: Re: micro Post by: oceansweet on Sep 28, 2010 thanks for answering, but what does the red and green color stand for? which ones are true and false?
