Duchenne muscular dystrophy is an X-linked recessive trait. The following pedigree shows the occurrence of this disorder in an extended family. Provide the phenotypes and genotypes of all the individuals in the pedigree. Enter phenotypes as affected, or normal. Enter gentoypes as XD (for not affected), Xd (for affected) or Y (for male). For the genotype.... for I-1 what would the answer be? It's a little confusing on how you wrote it

This doesn't seem right to me. If a male has the recessive trait at all shouldn't he be affected? For example I-2 should be XD Y not Xd Y???? d being the recessive trait. Could use some help on this.
