There is a tendency for the provinces with the higher police recorded crime rates to also have higher rates of bringing cases to court, however:
a.   BC has the second highest overall provincial crime rate but brings in cases at a rate similar to Newfoundland and Labrador.
b.   Quebec has an overall crime rate similar to Ontario, but brings youth to court at a rate that is less than half of that of Ontario.
c.   The variation that exists in numbers cannot be explained solely in terms of variation in crime rates in each province.
d.   This relationship does not hold perfectly in all instances.
e.   All of the above.
