1. transpose 13 to the left side of the equation leaving 5x on the right side, in equation form:
  88-13 = 5x
2. subtract 88-13 = 75, in equation form: 75 = 5x
3. divide both sides by 5, in equation form: 75/5 = 5x/5
4. answer: x= 15
