Ok, so you want to increase the amount of ADP molecules found in the body so that more ATP molecules can be made?

A bit confused, reply back.

Yes, Exercise and drinking a glass of ginseng once per week to boost ATP levels are very good, cordyceps is too expensive, I would like to know more on what happen to our body if ATP levels are too high.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks, to everyone very much for suggestions :>

I believe it is carefully regulated. If ATP is too low, then glycolysis will proceed forward, so that more ATP can rapidly be made.

If ATP is too high, which rarely happens, glycolysis will not move forward.

drinking a glass of ginseng once per week to boost ATP levels

Every times, I drink a glass of ginseng for a few days to boost ATP levels, Acne would be appear on face. Referring to following articles, it seems that acne is caused by changing hormones, which cause skin glands to start making more oil (sebum).
Do you have any suggestions on how boost ATP levels effect hormones and relate to acne?
Thanks, to everyone very much for any suggestions :>

Acne - Cause
There are different types of acne. The most common acne is the type that develops during the teen years. Puberty causes hormone levels to rise, especially testosterone. These changing hormones cause skin glands to start making more oil (sebum). Oil releases from the pores to protect the skin and keep it moist. Acne begins when oil mixes with dead cells camera.gif and clogs the skin's pores. Bacteria can grow in this mixture. And if this mixture leaks into nearby tissues, it causes swelling, redness, and pus. A common name for these raised bumps is pimples.

Well, if a person gains weight they will have more cells which in turn would produce more ATP

Ginseng doesn't do anything.

I'm with you on this. If it has any effect, it probably doesn't have to do with ATP.

I'm not sure that u could increase the amount of ATP that much ,you know. Bcs ATP comes from glucose , and the amount of glucose which body doesn't need is stored, or somehow. There is one way to increase the amount of PRODUCING it , I think: with doing high energy needed exersises, bcs when cells need more energy they PRODUCE, and then use more ATP . no matter what u eat.

According to one source, it states that Lipoic acid increases ATPase's activity, which is the enzyme that drives the synthesis of ATP from ADP in mitochondria.

After conducting further research, I have found the alpha-lipoic acid is a thiol antioxidant compound that has direct free- radical scavenging properties, and has been shown to benefit vascular and endothelial function.

There you have it, it's an antioxidant after all

From seminar, I heard that this acid acts like a force to pull glucose into ATP cells, which helps to charge ATP cells faster.

Do you find anything related information to how alpha-lipoic acid effects on ATP process?

Not sure how that works, glucose requires a protein to pass into the cell. Glucose transporters to be exact. Usually what activates these receptors is the works of insulin. A generalized statement like that doesn't provide much value

Definitely it is an antioxidant. Researchers believe Alpha-lipoic acid helps improve insulin sensitivity, that's why it is used by diabetics, like type 2 sufferers.

Referring to following videos about Diabetes, Alpha-lipoic acid is an antioxidant made by the body, if Alpha-lipoic acid helps to increases Na+K+ATPase activity, then it would helps turn more glucose into energy and lower blood sugar levels on solving diabetics' issue. I would like to know more on how Alpha-lipoic acid helps to increases Na+K+ATPase activity in cell levels.

Referring to following image, when you mention that Alpha-lipoic acid helps improve insulin sensitivity, could you please describe more on which following process is related to insulin sensitivity improvement?

Normal Regulation of Blood Glucose
  • High Blood Glucose
Insulin Released by Beta Cells of Pancreas
Fat Cells Take in Glucose from Blood
    Achieve Bormal Blood Glucose Levels

Referring to following image, when you mention that Alpha-lipoic acid helps improve insulin sensitivity, could you please describe more on which following process is related to insulin sensitivity improvement?

Insulin works by binding to a receptor on the outside of a cell and subsequently initiating a series of reactions inside the cell. The final step of these reactions is to activate glucose transporters, which are proteins that bring in sugar.

According to a study published in 2005, researchers discovered that alpha-lipoic acid increases insulin sensitivity by activating AMPK in skeletal muscle (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15913551). Thanks for the reference, duddy

Tell me what you think...

Referring to following video, I would like to know on how difference is between Q10 and Lipoic acid help to increase ATPase's activity.

0:58
Q10 is a conenzyme that works as a powerful antioxidant and plays a fundamental role in the energy process within the body

4:41
Q10 transfers protons outside the inner mitochondrial membrane, creating a proton gradiant across that membrane.  The energy released when the protons flow back into the mitochondrial interior is used to form ATP

Ubiquinone (Q10) plays a major role in energy production within the mitochondria of cells.

The effects of lipoic acid are less know. Bio_man provided a source that says it increases ATPase activity, but the article is locked - can't do much there. I found another article (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5961061/) (free) that discusses how it acts as a cofactor for a mitochondrial enzyme. It's discussed under the heading: Lipoic acid as a cofactor for mitochondrial 2-ketoacid dehydrogenases.

Lipoic acid behaves completely different that Q10. The effects of Q10 are more well-known that lipoic acid.

Q10 is a conenzyme, would its mainly function be converting energy from foods into ATP in term of increasing efficiency?

Furthermore, is there any recommended daily dosage for Q10?

Do you have any suggestions?

correct, as will all coenzymes, they help our proteins function better

your body makes it as necessary, I don't think you need any supplements

Below 30 - 35 ages, production of Q10 is more efficiency within body, so teenager can work or play overnight without sleep, those activity would be caused much damages within body.

Over 30 - 35 ages, production of Q10 would be less efficiency within body, leaking of enough energy within ATP, that would cause aging faster, would it be correct?

Do you have any suggestions?

certainly your body begins to produce less of it as you age because I assume your body doesn't require it as much as growth isn't occuring

literature says

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) levels fall with aging in the human but this is not seen in all species or all tissues. It is unknown whether lower CoQ10 levels have a part to play in aging and disease or whether it is an inconsequential cellular response to aging. Despite the current lay public interest in supplementing with CoQ10, there is currently not enough evidence to recommend CoQ10 supplementation as an anti-aging anti-oxidant therapy.

With enough Q10, converting energy process can be more efficient from foods into ATP,
what happen if anyone takes Q10 (conenzyme) supplement more than body's daily requirement, Q10 is just conenzyme, would it remove through urine? just like vitamin C.

Do you have any suggestions?

q10 is fat-soluble, it isn't removed via the urinary tract

The biosynthesis of CoQ10 has not been exhaustively studied, but it is known that after ingestion, the absorption of CoQ10 is similar to the absorption of fat-soluble antioxidants such as vitamin E.

safety:

The acceptable daily intake (ADI) is 12mg/kg/day, calculated from the no-observed-adverse-effect level (NOAEL) of 1200 mg/kg/day derived from a 52-week chronic toxicity study in rats, i.e., 720 mg/day for a person weighing 60 kg. Risk assessment for CoQ10 based on various clinical trial data indicates that the observed safety level (OSL) for CoQ10 is 1200 mg/day/person. Evidence from pharmacokinetic studies suggest that exogenous CoQ10 does not influence the biosynthesis of endogenous CoQ9/CoQ10 nor does it accumulate into plasma or tissues after cessation of supplementation. Overall, these data from preclinical and clinical studies indicate that CoQ10 is highly safe for use as a dietary supplement.

Most of Q10 products suggest 100 mg daily on market, if observed safety level (OSL) for CoQ10 is 1200 mg/day/person, then those supplement with only 100 mg daily seem useless ( better than none) levels,  is there any recent valid data for Q10 daily dosage?

IN my perspective, 100 mg is more than enough given that your body produces it already. Yes you can up the intake, but perhaps beyond 100 mg, it goes to waste
