Title: What is the balanced equation for a reaction between sodium carbonate, acetic acid, and water?
Post by: buffnstuff on Sep 5, 2012
Sodium Carbonate (Baking Soda): Na2CO3
Acetic Acid (Vinegar): CH3CO2H

Na2CO3 (solid) + CH3CO2H (liquid) + H2O (liquid) -----> ???

What would the products be, and what would the balanced equation be?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Acetic acid + Sodium Carbonate ----> Sodium Acetate + Water + Carbon Dioxide
2 CH3COOH + Na2CO3 ----> 2 CH3COONa + H2O + CO2
