Post by: afterstream on Nov 12, 2015
Wild-type strains of E. coli have a tRNA that carries the amino acid tyrosine and has the anticodon 5′-GUA-3′. This anticodon recognizes the mRNA codon UAC. We can represent this tRNA as GUA-tRNATyr.
Suppose you isolated a strain of E. coli in which a mutation changed the anticodon in this tRNA to 5′-CUA-3′. This mutant tRNA still carries tyrosine, and we can represent it as CUA-tRNATyr.

Answer the following questions about translation elongation in the wild-type and mutant strains.

Drag the correct label to each target in the table. Labels may be used more than once.
