Title: Why the light reaction and Calvin Cycle are dependent on eachother? Post by: tomocha on Sep 5, 2012 the calvin cycle need the NADPH and ATP from the light reaction in order to convert PGA to PGAL. I guess the light reaction is dependent on the calvin cycle because it needs the products of the calvin cycle to go through respiration so then the light reaction can split H2O.
