Post by: irina on Sep 2, 2012 cephalic stimulation (such as thoughts of food, smell of food, etc.) can trigger the enzyme to be released. To the second degree, the food entering your stomach, and the stretch of the smooth muscle cause even more of the enzyme to be released.
