Title: Why does frequency of Transduction rise to maximum then decline Post by: kakalaka1 on Jan 24, 2016 did an experiment where we tried to transduce a mutant gene into E.coli and wanted to see the effect that increasing the volume of Lysate (including bacteriophage) had on the number of transductants. the number of transductants rose as the volume of lysate increased, as expected but as it reached a maximum, it started to decline which was unexpected. can someone shed any light as to why this happened?
thank you Title: Re: Why does frequency of Transduction rise to maximum then decline Post by: bio_man on Jan 25, 2016 Did you replenish the medium?
