Bone conduction deafness:
   • Result of disease or malformation of the outer or middle ear
   • All sound is weaker and muffled because it is not conducted correctly to the inner ear

Sensorineural deafness:
   • Result of damage or malformation of the inner ear (cochlea) or the cochlear nerve
   • Some sounds are distorted and heard incorrectly
