Title: How do you determine recombinant frequency for 2 genes on the x-chromosome?
Post by: BuhReddy on Sep 6, 2012
I understand how to determine RF for genes that are autosomal but cannot figure out how to do it for x-linked genes. Since males only have one X chromosome they can only have one allele of the gene and therefore cannot be recombinants. So if only female individuals can be recombinants how do i determine RF??
Thanks!

Use this formula:

Recombination frequency = # recombinant gametes/total gametes.

Also, see the attachment.
