Parents should also be open to discussing options such as taking a gap year or taking a course at a community college, which could help reduce the pressure of having to attend a prestigious university.
On the other hand, the elderly population is growing and facing unique challenges of their own. There are concerns that America will soon be awash in a gray wave, spelling increased health care costs for an aging population, greater housing and transportation needs, and fewer young workers contributing to Social Security.
