Title: Can Ambien (Zolpidem) cause a false positive for Benzodiazepines?
Post by: oark on Sep 23, 2012
In my opinion I believe it would since it binds to GABA neurotransmitters but I want a professional answer. Does it? And if so why or why not? If not, don't say because it is not a Benzo I know that....

Ambien is chemically dissimilar to benzos, and therefore does not cause false positives. Even though it screws your brain just like benzos and causes very long lasting hellish withdrawals, the drugs are very different.
