Title: How would you solve this differential equation using Linear Equation Method?
Post by: firetruckboom on Oct 16, 2012
solve the differential equation y'=(2y+1)/(x+1), with condition y(0)=1.
Please help! This was a test question and I just don't know how to solve it, especially with the linear equation method. Thanks

y=(2y+1)/(y+1)
y=(2y+1)*(y+1)^(-1)
y'=2(y+1)^(-1)+(-1)(y+1)^(-2)
y'=2(y+1)^(-1)-(y+1)^(-2)
y'=(y+1)^(-2)(2y+1-1)
y'=(y+1)^(-2)(2y)
y'=(2y)(y+1)^(-2)
y'|(0)=0
