Title: n terms of fertilization and early embryonic development, identify a primary difference AND a major similarity? Post by: zyxomma77 on Oct 22, 2012 Fertilisation is the process by which the female egg or Ova fuses with the male sperm. They transform into a bigger, single cell, then rolls down the oviduct and implants itself in the uterine wall. As soon as the egg implants itself, it starts to divide. The period between conception and implantation is called germinal stage. So, the embryonic stage starts when the Fertilised egg starts to divide. They divide rapidly, forming a ball of cells called blastocyst. The blastocyst continues to mature and divide to form a foetus.
Hope that helps, dear! Kisses! |
