In a projectile motion situation where an object is launched at a 45º angle, if x is the horizontal direction and drag is neglected, what is the acceleration of the object in the x direction a few seconds after being launched?

Zero, gravity works vertically (and down), that is in the negative y direction. Gravity does not act horizontally, or in x.

The HORIZONTAL component of the velocity will remain constant throughout the flight. And since the velocity is constant, then its acceleration is zero.

Hope this helps.
