Title: help analyzing this paragraph from journal article
Post by: omgwtfitsp on Nov 13, 2012
In this journal "Evolutionary History and Adaptation from High-Coverage Whole-Genome Sequences of Diverse African Hunter Gatherers" by Lachance et. al , I am having a hard time trying to figure out what this certain section is saying.

Under "Evidence of Archaic Introgression" - We didn't find strong evidence that introgressed regions were clustered in genome more often than expected. We also found no significant evidence that introgressed regions were enriched in genic regions but rather genic regions were significantly depleted for introgression in several populations

The end of this section says that they found that low levels of introgression from an unknown archaic population have occurred in the hunter gatherer populations - consistent with archaic admixture found in non-africans

any help trying to simply explain what that part means? I am very confused
