Post by: torchunicycle on Dec 8, 2016 ABO blood types exhibit the phenomenon of codominance, meaning that some alleles are equally dominant and are therefore equally expressed. IA and IB are codominant alleles, while i is recessive. Someone who is IA IB genotype expresses both A and B antigens on the surface of their red blood cells and thus has blood type, or phenotype, AB.
